It was another chemo day. Aaron so nicely took the day off from work to take Hunter up to Doernbecher. The appointment was supposed to be in the afternoon. Tuesday we were told that Hunter may have to have a blood transfusion. The appointment had to be changed for the morning since it takes 4 hours for the transfusion. This is them getting ready to go at 6:45a.m this morning. Gaivn was wide awake then to and even dressed. It's amazing that he was even wake.

Here's his room. He had his own personal DVD player. He got to watch a couple of movies. Even he's favorite Disney movie, Treasure Plane. This was news to both Aaron and I.
Watching a movie. Hunter also got room service. He got chips and hot dog. Of course there was lots of ketchup on the hot dog.
There was a lot of waiting. Hunter had his chemo first. After that it was on to the transfusion. They had to wait to see if the Hunter's blood was compatible with the new blood. Once the transfusion started it was 4 hours until that was done. Following that was a Pre-op for next week when he gets he Port put in.

Aaron found out also that at 15 days into induction, which is what Hunter is in right now, the doctors want the leukemic cells to at 5% or lower whcih is remission. If they are not that low you are considered a slow responder. Hunter was at 10% on day 15. Yes, he is a slow responder. Which means, the agressive chemo will continue past day 29, which is next Thursday.
Aaron and Hunter left at 6:45 a.m. this morning and didn't get home until 6:45 this evening. Both Aaron and Hunter were wiped out when they got home. It is alot of sitting, riding in the car and then all of the waiting at the hospital. You would think it wouldn't be to taxing on you. It is definitely draining on us. We are so grateful though for the hospital being close enough to us that we don't have to check into the hospital for Hunter's treatments. It is so nice to come to our refuge, our home, sleep in our beds and be with each other. It's truly a blessing.

Love the Star Wars tee! We had Star Wars marathon and Treasure Planet movies the two nights after Joseph's accident. It amazes me how they can watch those movies over and over again!
You guys are troopers, I sure hope that Hunter is doing well, he must be a really strong kid.
