Pumpkin Carving

The kids have had three days off of school for Parent-Teacher Conferences. We were planning on going downtown to trick-or-treat. Gretchen woke up this morning with a fever. Man was she upset she couldn't go trick-or-treating.

We carved our pumpkins instead. For dinner we had the Papa Murphy's pumpkin pizza. She's not as disappointed now.

Independent Graham

Graham showed me how big he is by riding the scooter.

He loves to dance and be an inja (ninja).

Graham decided to build a fort by himself under the train table.

Harrison trying to convince Graham he needs his help.
Graham is so independent lately. It's been fun to watch him doing new things.

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Last Saturday we only had the three younger boys at home. Hunter and Gretchen were at the Tokarski's in Silverton for the night. The boys wanted to go on a walk then it was suggested that we go to the park and fly a kite. We have the big Costco kites. It was a perfect windy day for it. So we headed out.
The kite sailing in the air.

Gavin running while flying the kite. He loved making it dive and soar.

The other boys watching.

Harrison's turn.

He could have stood for hours just watching the kite in the air.

Still flying.

Then it was on to Graham.

It was kind a of hard for him to hold on to it. The wind was really strong at times and then not.

Really concentrating.

Little help from mom.

Another turn for Gavin. He was loving it.

That is our make shift leash. Rocket decided to chew through the leash while we were at the park. Luckily we had the tail for the kite that we weren't using. (Notice Harrison in the back lying on the ground, that is a fit because the dark clouds were getting closer and closer.)
Then the kite came crashing down so close to him. That snapped him out of the fit...for a second.

Gavin reeling in the string so we could head home.
It was a long string. We had so much of fun with the boys.

Home Sick But Still Creative

Gavin was home from school yesterday, fever, headache and a bit of a cough. Once the Motrin kicked in, he was ready to play with some Legos.

This Lego football player is what he came up with.

Not bad for a sickie. His brain never stops.

Pumpkin Patch

Harrison was able to go to the pumpkin patch with his preschool class. They even got to ride the big school bus to get there.

Getting back on the hayride after picking out their pumpkins.

On their way back in.

There he is in the red jacket.

Donuts and juice were served after they got back from picking out a pumpkin.

Harrison enjoying his donut. Graham watching some other kids.

After donuts it was on to the haystack. It was a little unnerving to see Harrison way up there. I would be nervous with any of my kids up there, but with Harrison's track record I can't help being more leary.

Coming out of a tunnel in the haystack.

Harrison in mid-jump.

Graham not wanting to miss out on the fun.

They had a great time and luckily didn't get to muddy.

School Pictures

Last Friday was school pictures for Gretchen and Gavin. Gretchen has been talking about curling her hair. This is my daughter that doesn't like to do much with her hair. We bought some foam curlers. I should have bought more. Gretchen's hair is so thick that with the curlers we had her hair didn't dry enough. We had to bring in the curling iron. She never would have let me do this before.

I'm not so sure I like this look. It makes her look so old. When did that happen? What a beautiful girl.

Gavin also got ready for pictures. He does his own hair. Gavin is also growing way to fast.

Always needs to be some silly ones in there, right?

Harrison needed to be in the action. No hair done yet that day.

Harrison is such a crazy kid.

Don't' forget Graham. This was his pose. Every time and snap the picture he would look down.

More posing.

And still more.
I have such fun kids. I'm realizing how much more I need to have fun with them I'm so focused most of the time on what's next, what needs to be done.
