Homemade Waterslide

Last week after Hunter's cross country meet, Aaron stopped by Rite Aid and picked up this pool. He was so excited it was only $1.99. Ever since we put up the play structure Aaron has wanted to put a pool at the bottom of the slide. We did this in our other house. I was a little hesitant because we don't have anything underneath the play structure but dirt. Dirt + Water = Mud. Not a combination I was all to eager to have. Aaron got out our tarp, problem solved.

Aaron eventually got out the hose and started spraying the kids as they came down. I think he had as much fun as the kids. This week we won't be doing the water slide. Although we could. There's plenty of rain.

Cross Country

No we are not heading out on a trip, Hunter is running cross country this fall. He would love to be playing football, but he wasn't quite sure if he was ready for the pads and all. He is enjoying it. Yesterday was the first meet. It was blazing hot for this time of year. Here he is getting ready at the starting line.

Here he goes to the finish. He did great. They ran 1 1/2 miles. Hunter is glad to have the first one done and ready for the next.

Harrison's Back to Preschool

Yesterday Harrison headed back to preschool. He was so excited and couldn't wait to make his lunch. They don't eat lunch at school so Harrison eats it on the way to school. Harrison is happy to be back to school. While Harrison was in school, Graham and I went for a run.

Garage Organization

Last weekend, Aaron and I put up some adjustable shelves in the garage. We love them. They are by Rubbermaid. We are going to get more for the yard tools and regular tools. I love them because you can adjust them to whatever is needed. It feels really good to have some of our food storage more organized.

Next month hopefully we can get some more for the rest of the garage. I love organizing things.

Play set and Goodbyes

While I was off running Hood to Coast, Aaron, the kids and our neighbor John started to build our new play set. We said goodbye to the trampoline that same weekend. We couldn't have both in the backyard and still have room for the kids to run and play.

Gavin loves to swing. In our other house I would find him outside just swinging away. He was only two then. I can still find him now out back swinging. Every night before and after dinner I can find all of the kids in the back playing on the play set.

Adam and Jaime came to say goodbye. So we took some pictures on the play set.

Have I mentioned how much we loves these two? We are so glad they came to visit.

Sahalie Falls

After lunch in Bend, we headed home. One the way home we took a short jant to a the beautiful Sahalie Falls. The water is so blue.
Aaron's parents met us in Bend and showed us this beautiful gem.

We hiked down a great trail along the falls. It was very chilly.

The kids wanted to feel how cold the water was. Jaime and Adam were more than willing to help. The kids verified that it was freezing.

We ventured up. Adam, Jaime and Hunter went out to the rocks were the Falls start. I couldn't look to long.

It was a really great spot to stop. I had almost said we weren't going to go. I was tired and ready to be home. I'm so glad I went.

Camping at Tumalo

Thursday of Labor Day weekend, the kids and I headed to Bend with Adam and Jaime to camp for a night. Aaron had to work because school was starting the following week. We set up camp then headed over to the swimmin' hole.

The sun had already gone behind the trees so the water wasn't as refreshing had the sun been shining down on them.

Adam was the first brave one to get all of the way in the water.

After playing at the park we headed to the swimmin' hole once again. Thankfully the sun was out and the water felt a little better. It was still freezing though.

After swimming we headed for some lunch. Then it was out of town. On the way home we stopped at a beautiful water fall. More pictures on that later. We had such a great time with Adam and Jaime. We wish they lived closer.
