Conference Weekend

Saturday after the afternoon session of conference the kids headed out to have some fun on the trampoline. Ender and Maya were over to play while Jared and Lydia ran some errands.

Aaron was taking pictures from the family room window. He took the screen off to get a clearer picture. I guess Hunter thought it would be and easy target.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

Still trying.

Sunday after afternoon conference we headed on a walk with our friends, the Deweys. Gavin found the log and want to carry it home to build a fort with it. We had to explain to him you needed more than one of them to make a fort. Gavin also said he was going to carry it all the way home. We were only half way on our walk. About 3 minutes later Gavin was riding in the stroller so tired from walking. Good thing he didn't bring the log.

Oh, his achin' back. This was right before he climbed into the stroller.

Graham feeling so big walking and not being in the stroller.

It was a couple of beautiful days last weekend. We would sure like them back. Oh well, we know the rain would have to return sometime.

Final Cake

This is my final cake. I tried to use all of the techinques that we learned on it, except I didn't get any roses done. Don't look to close I didn't have a chance to get another layer of frosting on. The class was the same day we got the puppy. That is why you still see crumbs. I'm really glad that I took the class. There may be another one to continue learning different things.

Another Trampoline Incident

It seems Gavin is always losing when jumping on the trampoline. Gavin was at the neighbors during the day on Wednesday and came back with this. It started on his eyebrow and when he woke up this is what it looked like, swollen shut. It looks so much better now. The swelling is gone. The color is amazing, dark purple and red. I keep teasing him that his is getting into my makeup. What a tough kid!
We went to school conferences Thursday and he wore his hood almost the whole time. Then he started to let everyone see it.
We are getting rid of out trampoline and putting up a play set.

Daisy

Monday night Aaron was looking online at the humane society's website. He and Gretchen had seen that they had some puppies there on Saturday when they walked a dog. That night he noticed that the puppies were still there. Aaron has never had a pet. Tuesday at noon I headed over to get a puppy. The kids were so excited about her. In the humane society they had named her Pepsi. We didn't really like that name so we've changed it to Daisy.

She is a walker hound mix. We aren't quite sure what the mix is.

I took her to the vet on Thursday and found out she would probably get to be at least 40lbs. Not exactly what we were looking for. We want an indoor dog. I'm not one to keep a big dog inside. Especially her, she loves to stiff all over for things. She is a hound dog.

Well, she is going back to the humane society tomorrow. We don't want to get more attached than we already are.

Since we've had her she has grown so much. It's been great to see Gretchen and Hunter step up and take care of her and other things. They are ready for a dog. We'll keep looking for a better fit for our family.

Gretchen's Party

The Friday after her birthday, Gretchen had a party with some friends.

Gretchen wanted to do an egg hunt.
She also requested an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Easy for me, I didn't have to make one.

Everyone enjoyed the cake.

She received some wonderful and fun gifts. I failed to mention that Gretchen has been saving up for a year to buy a Nintendo DS. On her birthday she had enough. She has inspired her brothers to start saving.

They all had a great time. It's hard to believe that my little girl is 9.
