Yesterday Hunter came into my room at 6:20 am to let me know that his right hand wasn't working so well. We knew exactly what was going on. This is what happened in July when Hunter's left side went limp. Then Hunter had four lumbar punctures in a row. He had only two last week and the week before. Luckily we were headed up to Doernbecher. The doctors told us to give Hunter Leucovorin every six hours for five days. This is the medication he got before and it worked great.
Hunter was scheduled for Vincristine, which doesn't take long at all to give and Aspergenase, which is about 2 hours. which he got both of yesterday. After get his CBC results back we found out the his ANC had only dropped to .6 from .7. Not bad but still at risk for fever. His hemoglobin was 7. At 7.7 or below they are usually given a blood transfusion. Which is what Hunter got. Hopefully that will help with the headaches he has been getting when he stands up. His platelets were at 26, very low. Last week he was at 126. He had some pretty heavy duty stuff the last couple of week. Hunter was such a trooper the whole way through. Thankfully we are at the tail end of this phase.

We were there until 5:30. Hunter was able to play the PS2. It was a bit difficult because of his fingers on his right had not working so great. It is mostly his pointer finger that won't do what his brain tells it too. He also watched the 'Game Plan' and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' while we were there.
Thankfully we have great friends and family that help with the other kids. I don't have to worry about them a bit. What a blessing.
Before bed last night Hunter's right wrist was going limp also. Hopefully the Leucovorin will kick in soon.

Hunter, I just don't know how you do it every day. You're an inspiration!!
We are thinking about you and hoping for a quick recovery with loosing the feeling in his fingers and wrist. This is one less worry that you don't need. Thank goodness in some ways that you know what to expect, which makes it a little less scary.
I was just thinking the other day how he is such a great example to everyone around him, especially my boys. What a trooper! He's going to beat this.
I can't wait for this phase to be over too! I can't even begin to imagine...any of this.
I see your family being strengthened in faith (which is crazy...because you all were pretty strong before this!) ;)
