Father-Sons Campout

Friday night was the Father-Sons Camp Out for our ward and 1st ward.

Graham was able to really get around this year and enjoy it.

After helping Graham get washed up. Aaron turned around to see Harrison running around without his shoes on. Aaron asked where his shoes were. Harrison pointed over where the mud was. Upon further inspection, this is what Aaron found.

More water and mud. What boy wouldn't be happy with this. They had a fabulous time and loved having our neighbors, the Dezzani's, there too.

Gretchen had a birthday party to go to. She was only going to stay for a couple of hours. On the way there she decided she wanted to stay the night. So I was fortunate enough to be home alone, well I had the puppy. I borrowed the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice from my friend and watched that. I love the most recent version of it with Keira Knightley. I enjoyed the BBC version because it told more of the story, like the book. I had taken an allergy pill and probably wouldn't have been to much fun for Gretchen anyway. I was so tired.

I got to go for a run when I woke up Saturday morning. Very strange to not have to get up and get things going for everyone.
Today at church there was a new bishop put in. Aaron was released from being 2nd counselor to our former bishop. He was then put in as 1st counselor to our new bishop. He is looking forward to serving with Bishop Carlson and Brother Gunnell. So yes I'm still getting kids ready for church by myself. Also sacrament meeting is still solo too. Thank goodness our kids are pretty well behave. Believe me they have their moment, for the most part the are good.

A Talented Friend

Fourteen years ago my wonderful friend to Kim took our engagement pictures. This weekend she took pictures of our family. Kim just posted some of the pictures from Sunday. She wasn't able to get this picture on her computer. So I thought I'd help her out. Enjoy her awesome talent.

Fun Weekend

We had a great weekend together as a family. Friday we celebrated my 34th birthday. We ate out. I didn't have to cook dinner. One of the best presents ever. Saturday we had a picnic outside in the backyard.

The also were ready to go to our community pool that opened that day.

After lunch it was off to the pool. It really wasn't as busy as I thought it would be.

After the pool we headed to see 'Night at the Museum 2'. We really enjoyed the movie and can't wait to see it again.

Sunday we met my great friend Kim at the park. She took some wonderful pictures of us.

Monday we had a barbecue with 3 other families in our neighborhood. Then we headed to the pool and had a splendid time. Maybe got a little too much sun, but so grateful it is here. Last year when the pool opened the weather was overcast and windy.

Now today, it's back to the schedules. Only a couple more weeks than we can start sleeping in.!

Finally!

We finally have another puppy. The kids are so excited. We picked him up from the neighbors behind us on Saturday. He is a terrier, chihuahua, dachshund mix. I think he is about 4 or 5 weeks, so pretty young. His mom was tired of nursing 5 puppies so she weaned them.

More cuddle time. We think the name might be rocket. Gavin came up with it on the way to school today. Graham has been calling him Rocket all day. It just might stick.

Mother-Daughter Time

Yesterday for an Activity Day activity, there was a mother-daughter spa day. Gretchen's leader Kelli Richardson made some body scrubs for the moms and daughters to enjoy. It was a great afternoon. Gretchen wanted to try the chocolate face scrub. Her face was so smooth afterwards. We also did a strawberry scrub for our hands. We had a really great time. Gretchen didn't want to paint her nails. She said to me later that she's not really a girlie girl. She's like more of the tomboy stuff. I think she is a great mix of girlie and tomboy. I'm so glad we had the afternoon together even if it was for an hour.

What's Been Happening?

What a week it has been. We had so much family in town. A week ago Sunday my Grandpa passed away. For the funeral we had many visitors. It was so great to see all of my uncles, aunts, cousins, brothers, sister, nieces and nephews. We had such a great time together. Thursday night we had 28 people sleeping in our house. It wasn't as crazy as you would think. I just love being with family.

Saturday afternoon we headed to the coast. They couldn't come from Idaho and not got to the coast. On Thursday and Friday the weather was beautiful we were in short and playing outside. Saturday not so much. On the drive to the coast it was pouring. Once we pulled into Newport, no rain. We hurried to the beach before any came pouring down.

The kids couldn't wait to get to the tide pools.

The sunny came out and Karsten found some hermit crabs.

Graham wasn't so sure about the beach. It was so windy he couldn't really stand still.

It was getting too windy for the younger kids so we were headed up to the gazebo. Then the kids found these rocks to climb on. It was perfect out of the major wind.
Gavin is taking a breather at the top of the rocks. He was pretty upset because Karsten was putting hermit crabs in he jacket pockets. He got over it and had fun it no time.

They made it. I love seeing and hearing these to play together. They say such funny stuff and get along so well.

After we were done at the beach we went up to the gazebo to figure out what to do next.

Of course the kids can find something fun to do where ever they are.

We had such great time with my family. It certainly was to short. Everyone left Sunday. When we got home from church it was so quiet compared to the last couple of day. Can't wait until we can get back together.
