Swim Meet

Tuesday afternoon Hunter had another swim meet. It was against Philomath.
Hunter is getting ready for his turn in the first relay. He is in the lane farthest to the left.

Here he is in his last event, 200 free relay.
Hunter got PRs in all his events. That is what we are shooting for. He looks stronger and stronger each race. It is so fun to see him really enjoying it.

New Duds

Aaron got his splint off today. You can see the pins that are in his pinky.

Then he got this beauty on. It is shorter that the splint so more of his arm is exposed.
Aaron gets to wear this for two weeks then he will have something else on. The doctor wants his knuckles to be able to move.
Aaron is less than thrilled. He is not able to lift anything heavier than a pencil with his left hand. I really hope that he follows the rules.
Poor guy! 

Guy Time

Last all the boys went to the OSU wrestling match. It didnt' take long for Graham to fall asleep. Just kidding he was making silly faces

 

 

At one point Aaron sent me this picture and said,"The boys were loving the 'game'. The DS game that is.

Proof that the drugged up Aaron was there.

The guys ran into Daniel Neuffer at the wrestling match. He is one of Hunter's good friends.

The girls and I were home having a good time without the boys around. It was much quieter.

Hazel

Hazel is truly our peacemaker. She is constantly making our lives better.
She has gone on several walks with different family members this winter break. Gretchen and Hazel were walking Rocket.

Ignore the nasty nose. Hazel has been fighting this cold for a couple of weeks. She has been happy through it. Although she woke up yesterday with a little green goop in her eyes. Luckily the nurse at the doctor's office called in the prescription for drops. I didn't have to make another trip to a doctor's office.

The other night Harrison came running into the bathroom where I was painting. He told me that Hazel had gotten out a diaper, a wipe and the powder for her doll.

She was trying to change the doll's diaper.
Hazel has done this several times when she needs a diaper change. Signs that we are getting closer to potty training.

She really does think she is a big girl. Our little girl is not a baby anymore.
 

Post Surgery

Aaron had surgery on his pinky yesterday morning. All went well and quick. He thought he was feeling great until the the pain meds started to make Aaron feel light headed and woozy.
He did end up getting sick to his stomach right before bed.
The night was a restless one for Aaron and I. He was tossing and turning all night. The feeling was finally coming back to his ring and pinky finger. Which made Aaron feel much better.
Today he was feeling woozy again. He was in bed most of the day. Around 3:30 Aaron got out of bed ready to get going.
The boys and he went to an OSU wrestling match late this afternoon. We are all so grateful that he is feeling much better.
Aaron is still not happy about having to slow down. He is having to adjust his workouts which was not something Aaron was happy about. He'll figure it out. We all hope the next 4-6 six weeks will go fast.
 

Oopsy Poopsy

This is what Aaron loves to get Hazel to say when something goes wrong.
Aaron was playing football with some buddies on New Year's Day. It was freezing outside. He was going for a pass in the end zone, missed but looked down and noticed that his pinky was poking away from his hand and was twisted. He didn't feel any pain probably because his hands were frozen.
Aaron thought he dislocated it and popped it back into where it is supposed to go. He played for an hour more and then went to lift wiehgts with Matt Elton.(He was the one who asked him to come play).
We headed to the doctor this morning, first thing. It was really hurting him. He went to lift weights this morning. Wonder why it hurts?

Aaron tried to fill out some of the paperwork today at the doctors. It was painful. I finished filling them out for him.

Nasty break. It was really hurting him today.

A temporary tape up until Friday when Aaron has surgery to get his bones set and pins put in. OUCH! It's a good thing he has work off. But not the way he wants to spend the end of break.
Aaron has 4-6 weeks of a cast. The big bummer is not being able to do arms when he is lifting. He is already on the web looking for things he can do that will get his arms and chest without compromising his pinky.
It will be interesting when Harrison gets baptized next Saturday. Hopefully Aaron can get a waterproof cast.

Someone is 10!

Gavin is now 10. The day wasn't exactly like he wanted it.
He didn't have to do chores because it was his birthday. But he did have a dentist appointment. Not a favorite of his. He let me know several times that it wasn't fair that he had to go to the dentist on his birthday. Such is life!
Also since the Stenson's moved we didn't have a fun filled night with them. Sigh!
Gavin did request steak and cilantro lime rice with tomatillo dressing for dinner. That was a hit. 

When it was time for presents and cake, things started to look up for this kid. He requested vanilla cupcakes topped with chocolate frosting and a basketball theme.

What I came up with!

Gavin loved them.

At the end of the longest birthday Gavin had a good day!
