Museum of Church History and Art

After the Vistiors Center, we walked over to the Museum of Church History and Art. It was so great. There was a section about the latter day prophets. Each had different possesions of the prophets, like shoes that they wore, trains the collected or suits they wore and much more. That was very interesting to me.

There was an exact replica of the pulpit in the conference center that the talks are given at during General Conference in the museum. That was fun for the kids to stand at.

The kids always love to see who can see Angel Moroni on the Portland Temple. I was exciting to see one so close.

These are of an hands on exhibit for kids called I Am a Child of God. The kids had fun with all of the different things they could do.

Church Visitors Center

After walking around outside for awhile, we headed over to the Visitors Center. You can see Becky and I in the back nursing the boys. While the dads toke the kids around to see all of the wonderful things.

Harrison was hiding. He had had enough of walking around and looking at exhibits. The kids all did really well. We weren't quite finished though.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition

I got my hair cut to day at The Retreat. The hairstylist told me that Extreme Makeover was in town and on Granger Rd. They, The Retreat, had gone out and done some massages and etc. for the crew. I came home and told Aaron. We headed out this evening and this is what we found. We had no idea they were in town probably because we were out of town for two weeks. Just thought we'd share. Aaron wants to be there for the reveal. We'll see.

Day Three-Temple Square

Our first stop on Temple Saquare was the Distribution Center. Then on to the new movie at the Legacy Theater of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It is entitled Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration. What a wonderful movie. It strenghtened my testimony of the Restoration and in the prophet Joseph Smith. The kids loved it also but it did get a bit too long for them. I would recommend it to anyone.

After the movie we headed outside to enjoy the heat. Just kidding! It was extremely hot and we were grateful for the shade. The kids loved seeing the temple and the water everywhere.

The kids were so tempted to jump in. It would have felt so good. They did a good job of controling that urge.

Day Two continued

After the horse and other animals, we walked over to the pond.

The kids couldn't wait for the gate to be opened. That is the pond in front of them.

Finally got in and couldn't wait to start throwing rocks into the pond. What kid won't love that.

Headed home and Harrison had to throw just a couple more rocks.

It was a wonderful day!

Day Two

We headed to Utah to visit our friends the Petty's. They moved to Corvallis in Aug of 2001. Both of our families just moved into the Corvallis 2nd Ward. I was lucky enough to be assigned as Becky Petty's visiting teacher. She was due the next month, Sept, with their second child. When her water broke, they brought Matt their, first child, over to our house. We have been the best of friends since.

Just a little background of how the friendship began. We started out with the Petty's having 1 child and us with 2 when we met. Now there are 9 kids . How things have changed.

We arrived at the Petty's home in Uintah before dinner. We ate and then headed to where their horse, Nugget, is. That is one of the first things Gretchen asked when can we see your horse.Tim, Nugget, Emma, and Gretchen

Day One of the Trip

Here we are headed out of town. We are only in Albany and the movies had already started. It wasn't to long of a trip to Boise. Graham was a very good traveler. He didn't need to eat every two hours. He stretched it to 3-4 hours.

We stopped in Meridian, Id and stayed at the Mr. Sandman Motel. We could have stayed with my brothers family but we decided to stay at the motel. We had fun going for a swim and get our bodies moving before dinner. What a fun day!
