We ran Hood to Coast this year. It was so much fun to be with family and friends.
Our team name was Hale Bent.
Van 1 headed to Timberline Lodge for their start time of 11:30. They were pretty excited.
No one on the team had done this race before except me.
Van 1- Jonelle, Connor, Charlie, Darin, Eric and Adam.
Adam getting ready to start the team off.
Adam in the middle of the pack.
And he is off.
Adam ran downhill for 5.64 miles. The elevation change was from 6000 feet to just above 4000. That is pretty steep. He did awesome!

Here's Charlie on her first run. It was her longest of her three at 7.18 miles. Charlie rocked it.
She ran the legs that I did the first time doing the relay.

Van 2 meeting up in Portland to head to Sandy where we were meeting Van 2.
Justin, Juan, Jeremy, Me, Aaron, and Jesse.

Team Hale Bent minus Jeremy who was out running his first leg plus Dana who was driving Van 1.
Jeremy getting ready for the bracelet pass off from Eric.
Eric did awesome coming from Arizona to run. A bit different climate.
There's Mt. Hood where the team started.
Jeremy handed off to Jesse
While we were doing our first legs of the relay Van 1 found some a good spot to rest near the river.
My hand off to Juan.
Waiting for Juan to run in.
Justin is off to downtown Portland under the Hawthorne bridge to meet Van 1.
After meeting up with Van 1 we headed to St. Helen's for a shower and sleep.
Aaron and I got the shower but sleep didn't come. There was so much noise in that room. We were both starving too.
After our rest in St. Helen's we headed to the next exchange this would be our night runs.Aaron and Jesse had a hard run in the dark and on a dirt road that the vans were driving on, super dusty.
I wasn't so sure about this. It was my favorite run out of all three. It was my longest at 6.81 miles.I ran up hill from 850 feet to 1250 in 1.75 miles. It was nice that I couldn't see the top. The rest of the run was mostly downhill. It was fun to run and see all the LED lights and reflective vests lit up.
It was frustrating because traffic was backed up forever. We couldn't make it to the next exchange before our runner was there. The runner in the van had to hope out and walk or run to the next exchange which could be from half a mile to a mile away.
We missed Van 1 at the next major exchange because of the traffic. They decided to go to the next exchange after that. We didn't find that our until Justin had waited an hour for them to get to the exchange. The advantages of no cell service.
We couldn't find our where they were and weren't sure when they were coming.
Jesse on his last leg of the race.
We made it to the next major exchange and got some texts from Jason. But weren't sure when they were sent. It was such a mess. We decided to continue on with the race as if we had seen them.
This is Aaron on his last but longest run at 7.2 miles and a gradual uphill. He did amazing.
Justin taking us to Seaside for the finish.
Our van's decor for the race.
Van 1 decided to not go to Seaside which was a major bummer to not have the team together there. But the stopped for some grub.
Seaside!
We made it 197.86 miles on foot. Very impressive!
Van 2 representing Team Hale Bent at the finish line!
Jeremy had just bent down to tie his shoe.
Being the only women in the van was not too bad. We had a blast!
The guys minus Juan decided they needed to jump into the ocean.
So they did!
So fun!
So fun!
It was a great experience running with everyone!
